If you translate the lyrics, they say “Hold tight my people, don’t get weary, don’t lose your strength, we can see” and “The color of my skin, that is dark, I am proud of it.”
It’s amazing how, even though this was written 20+ years ago, this song is still relevant. This animation is beautiful, the colors are gorgeous, and it brings hope to those who have none.

To all of the new CP’s who are either coming down, or who are already here: Welcome. You guys are gonna have a blast. Like I’ve said many, many times, you guys are here to work, so get ready to work. You are gonna have a blast wherever you are only if you take from it. I’ve made friends that I’m gonna keep for a long time. I’ve made a name for myself in my workplace because I’ve been aggressive and wanting to be able to do things that I want to do.
If you’re down here already, let me know! I’d like to meet people! Anyways…that’s it.
Hahaha, just kidding. Nevermind. I still have one more thing that I’d like to share. In a couple of days you might see a video of me telling you how to make a ham and cheese sandwhich…don’t be alarmed. See, there’s an opportunity for me to do a temporary assignment as a coordinator for magic music days here in orlando. As part of the interview process, I need to make a 3-5 minute presentation on anything that I want to do. So, I felt like making a ham and cheese sandwich. In order to practice, I’m gonna make a video and post it up here and on my YouTube channel. When it appears, comment on it so that I know what to do and what to change. Thanks!!!

Well, it’s more of like I have a question for you guys. Or more of like a task…anyways, what I want you guys to do is to email me any questions you have. Any type, whether it be about the college program (for those of you reading it and wondering what it is/what to do), about me, or anything!!!! Alright, so this is a little different post, but these guys are one of my many favorite groups. These guys are called Celtic Thunder. If you’ve heard of Celtic Women, the person who created that group has created this group. Their sound is amazing, although they don’t have any crazy fiddle players. But their sound is amazing, and the group is amazing. Here’s a little preview for you guys.
Also, the boy singing “Puppy Love” is Damien McGinty. When he first joined, he was 13. Well, all boys’ voices don’t stay high pitched for very long, and he was no exception. He sounds much older now, and they might have cut that song from the show.
So, I got this pretty cool email from the Disney company (the company, not the college program) and it said that they were having a contest all of February as part of their “What Will You Celebrate?” campaign. It’s kind of interesting. Check it out.
Also, I gave a call to my representative at the College Program. Unfortunately, she was not the person to talk to. However, she did give me the number to ask about my roommate situation, and all that jazz. So, tomorrow, I guess I’ll be giving the Housing Department a little ring-a-ding-ding and see what’s up.
So, it’s moments like these when I’m at work, and there’s no one in the pool at all that makes me wanna be in Florida right now. Granted, there was a winter storm these past two days and people are scared of driving out there…but c’mon. I’m a lifeguard who is the only one on duty at a time. No one else. I go a little crazy at times, trying to entertain myself; it’s not working. Even if I was a lifeguard in WDW, I wouldn’t have to be by myself, and there would be other CM’s with me, and I would rotate and get breaks and all that jazz. I’m tired of sitting on a chair watching people swim. I’m tired of having the feeling that, while I did get trained and that only other trained lifeguards can sit on the chair, that’s just it: I’m sitting on a chair. I know, it’s part of “working class America,” but I feel like I’m destined for greater things than just sitting on a chair by myself watching other people swim. I don’t feel very productive. I wanna do theatre, but I can’t because in all reality it’s not a very good career to get into since a hit only comes once in a blue moon. I need to go out there and see the world for myself instead of sitting at home watching people on the travel channel do it for me! I have that itch that the tales of old have talked about, but I feel trapped like the caterpillar that my sister caught over the summer; eventually it died, without going through the metamorphasis stage. I don’t wanna be a caterpillar, I wanna “stretch my wings and flap my way to glory!” That’s about it.
Oh yeah, my point with this. I feel like this opportunity will be great for me, even though I may come back and realize how quiet life outside of the WDW College Program is. But I feel like this is a stepping stone for me to dive off and do wonders in the world.
So, January was a sad month for all of the fans of Broadway. This month, all of the very good shows, like Spring Awakening and Hairspray, are gone. Now, granted, it was Hairspray’s time and no show could ever be like the Phantom (except of course for RENT), it’s still sad to see a show go. I just thought that I ought to write this.
Yes, I know what you’re thinking. How could I be a Disney fan and not participate in the Pin Trading game? Well, I was never able to because my family would never want me to because it would get too expensive and then the pins that were special to me would get traded. But, since I’ll be doing this program this year, my family decided to get me a “2009” pin. It looks cool, and I have a feeling that I’ll be doing this for a while.
Hahaha, so, this is just a photo of me being a dork at my work with my purple folder. If you know me, it’s even funnier. If not, it could still be pretty funny.
